Voice practice

What seven days of voice practice can change

For learners who understand a language but freeze when they need to speak.

Quick answer

Use seven days to establish a speaking routine, not to promise fluency. Record a short answer on day one, practise one correction each day, then repeat the same task on day seven. Compare clarity, completed ideas and reliance on notes.

Practice goal

Keep the language and task constant for your before-and-after comparison. This is a practice plan, not evidence of a guaranteed result.

Key takeaways

  • Aim for five focused minutes, not a long perfect recording.
  • Keep one correction and repeat the improved sentence.
  • Compare the same task on day 1 and day 7; do not use an easier final task.

Companion practice

01

Days 1–2: baseline and one correction

Day 1: answer “Who are you, where do you live, and why are you learning this language?” for up to 30 seconds without notes. Save the recording privately. Day 2: choose one sentence you struggled with, get a correction and say the improved version three times. Do not script a completely different speech.

02

Days 3–5: recall and variation

Day 3: answer the same questions with your notes hidden. Day 4: practise a shop or cafe role-play and ask for repetition once. Day 5: answer one unexpected follow-up question. In each five-minute session, spend roughly one minute trying, two checking and two repeating. Shorten the task if it feels overwhelming.

03

Days 6–7: transfer and compare

Day 6: repeat your role-play with one changed detail. Day 7: record the original introduction again under the same conditions. Count completed ideas, long pauses and times you needed notes. Keep one improvement and one next target. These are personal practice measures, not a CEFR score or a promise of progress in seven days.

FAQ

What should I ask the AI tutor?

Try: “Practise my chosen language with me. Ask one beginner question, wait for my voice answer, then correct only the most important mistake. Let me try again before asking another question.” Choose your language first in KeelAI on iPhone, Android or Telegram.

What if I still hesitate after a week?

Keep the task small and repeat it. Hesitation alone does not show whether you improved: check whether you completed more ideas, understood a follow-up or needed fewer notes. If the task is too difficult, reduce it to two sentences. Seven days is a routine-building period, not a fluency deadline.
