Estonian Dialogues in KeelAI: Listening Practice for A1-B2 Learners
KeelAI now has Dialogues: short Estonian audio scenes with listening tasks. It is a dedicated path for learners who need to understand spoken Estonian, not only read or write it.

Why Dialogues matter
Many learners recognize words in text but lose them when they hear real speech. Dialogues trains exactly that gap: listen to a short conversation, answer tasks after key turns, and check whether you understood the meaning.
It is useful for:
- daily listening practice;
- preparation for the listening part of an Estonian exam;
- getting used to the rhythm of spoken Estonian;
- understanding everyday and study situations;
- practicing without long podcasts or difficult videos.
How the practice works
The loop is simple:
- Choose A1, A2, B1, or B2.
- Listen to a short Estonian dialogue.
- Answer tasks after important turns.
- Reveal transcript or translation if needed.
- Check your listening result.
The main principle is listen first, read second. Text and translation are support, not the main exercise.
Levels A1-B2
At A1-A2, dialogues focus on everyday situations: introductions, shops, transport, and simple requests. At B1-B2, conversations become denser, with more detail, longer turns, and more context.
That progression matters because listening improves through regular contact with material that is just above your current level.
How to use Dialogues for exam preparation
If you are preparing for an Estonian exam, Dialogues can become a short daily listening block.
A useful cycle:
- Listen without text.
- Answer the tasks.
- Open the transcript only after your first attempt.
- Replay difficult parts.
- Repeat new phrases out loud or in a Marko call.
That connects listening with speaking instead of leaving it as passive audio.
