Marko Video Calls: Practice Estonian with an AI Tutor in Telegram
KeelAI now has a new Estonian practice format: Marko Video Calls. It is not just a chatbot and not a separate lesson app. It is a live-feeling way to speak with an AI Estonian tutor inside the Telegram Mini App.
Learners can speak by voice or type text, and Marko answers with spoken replies in a video-call style interface. The experience feels closer to a short lesson than a regular chat: voice, avatar presence, facial expression, speech synchronization, and learning context stay together.

What Marko Video Calls are
Marko Video Calls is an AI-powered Estonian speaking practice tool. It helps learners practice without booking a lesson, finding a conversation partner, or feeling embarrassed about mistakes.
It is especially useful when you want to:
- start speaking out loud, not only reading;
- rehearse a real-life or work situation;
- prepare for life, study, or work in Estonia;
- repeat the same dialogue several times;
- ask the tutor to speak more simply or slowly.
Voice or text
The main goal is speaking practice, but speaking out loud is not always convenient. That is why Marko Video Calls supports both voice input and text input.
This makes practice flexible: speak at home, type in a quiet public place, and switch back to voice later.
Three interface modes
Marko Video Calls has three modes:
- Full-screen video for the strongest live-session feeling.
- Video plus chat when you want to see the transcript.
- Chat-only mode when audio or video is not convenient.
All three modes support the same goal: short, repeatable Estonian conversation practice.
How this differs from regular chat
The regular Marko chat is useful for messages, explanations, and text tasks. Calls are different: you are not only messaging AI, you are holding a conversation with a virtual tutor.
That helps learners get used to the rhythm of real dialogue: listen, answer, clarify, ask for repetition, and continue.
How to use it for Estonian
Start with a small scenario:
- "Marko, let's do an A1 shop conversation."
- "Run a short work call in Estonian."
- "Help me introduce myself for an exam."
- "Speak slowly and correct my replies."
If it feels hard, switch to text. When it feels easier, return to voice.
