Reader Apps Privacy Policy

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the standalone free language Reader applications operated by E-com solutions OÜ, including Estonian Reader and future Reader editions for other languages (collectively, the Reader Apps).

The Reader Apps let users read published learning texts, look up words in an integrated dictionary and use basic reading features without creating an account. They do not contain advertising, paid subscriptions or in-app purchases at the date of this policy.

Data Controller

Data We Process

The Reader Apps can be used as a guest. Guest reading progress, display preferences and saved-word state may be stored locally on the device. We may also process a pseudonymous app identifier, language selection, reading activity, dictionary interactions, consent choices, diagnostics and technical request data such as IP address, device type, operating system and browser information.

If you choose to create or use an account, we may additionally process your email address, Apple or Google sign-in identity where available and selected, internal account identifier, synchronized reading progress, completed texts, saved words and preferences.

If you separately opt in to notifications or optional communications, we may process a notification token and your corresponding consent or communication preferences.

Purposes and Legal Bases

We process data to provide reading and dictionary features, preserve local or synchronized progress, authenticate accounts, maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors and respond to support requests.

Where required, optional analytics, notifications and communications are based on consent. Necessary processing is based on providing the service requested by the user and our legitimate interests in security, reliability and limited operational measurement.

Service Providers and Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We use service providers only where needed to operate the Reader Apps.

Apple provides App Store distribution, optional Sign in with Apple and Apple Push Notification service (APNs). Google provides Google Play distribution, optional Google account sign-in and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) notification delivery where enabled. The Latvian iOS Reader uses FCM and APNs for optional notifications; Firebase Analytics is disabled in this app. Cloudflare and our hosting providers process network and technical data for hosting, content delivery and security. Other analytics or communication providers process relevant data only when the corresponding feature and consent apply.

Providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, we use contractual and other lawful safeguards for international transfers.

Retention

Local guest data remains on the device until it is cleared by the user, the app is removed or the device removes it. Account data and synchronized learning progress are generally retained while the account remains active. Analytics and diagnostic records are retained only for a limited period appropriate to their purpose, typically no longer than 12 to 24 months. Support correspondence may be retained for up to 24 months.

Some security logs and records required by law may be retained for the applicable legal or operational period.

Your Choices

You can read as a guest, decline optional analytics or marketing where offered, choose whether to create an account and control notification permission in the app or device settings.

You may clear local app data through your device settings. Authenticated users can manage privacy controls and request deletion of their account and associated data.

Account and Data Deletion

If you create an account, you can request deletion from the privacy controls in the app or at https://keelai.ai/en/account-deletion. You may also contact privacy@keelai.ai.

Account deletion removes the account and associated learning data held by us, subject to limited retention where required for security or by law.

Age

The Reader Apps are intended for users aged 18 and older and are not designed for children.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted network transport, access controls and measures designed to limit unauthorized access. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

Your Rights and Contact

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, object to certain processing or withdraw consent. You may also complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon).
