Speaking preparation is more than a memorised monologue.

Speaking preparation is more than a memorised monologue. You need to understand a question, answer it and keep a conversation going. Try the tasks below, then practise with Marko by voice or text. These are KeelAI exercises, not official Harno exam papers.

  • Voice or text
  • Spoken AI tutor replies
  • Short practice without scheduling

What you can do

B1: answer and reach an agreement

The official B1 format includes personal questions and a dialogue. For your own practice, choose a familiar situation such as arranging a walk with a friend. Start simply, then add details.

  • Answer: “Mida sulle nädalavahetusel teha meeldib?” — What do you like doing at weekends?
  • Suggest: “Lähme laupäeval jalutama.” — Let’s go for a walk on Saturday.
  • Clarify: “Mis kell sulle sobib?” — What time suits you?
  • Ask Marko to reject the first option: find another time and confirm the arrangement.

B2: compare options and explain an opinion

For more demanding practice, discuss remote work. Prepare your position, one reason and a limitation. Ask your partner to take the opposite view so you have to respond rather than recite.

  • Start: “Minu arvates on kaugtöö mugav, sest…” — In my opinion, remote work is convenient because…
  • Add another side: “Samas võib…” — At the same time, it may…
  • Ask about the other view: “Miks sa nii arvad?” — Why do you think so?
  • Afterwards, check whether you stayed on topic, gave a reason and responded to the other argument.

FAQ

How can I practise Estonian speaking without a partner?

Ask Marko in KeelAI to ask one question at a time and role-play a situation that needs a decision. Reply by voice, request clarification and reformulate after corrections. Start with an introduction and arranging a meeting, then move on to comparing options and giving reasons.

Does Marko assess speaking like a Harno examiner?

No. Marko helps you practise conversation and review mistakes, but the feedback is not an official exam assessment. Check Harno’s materials for the exam format and criteria. Successful app practice does not guarantee a B1 or B2 pass.
